SCEPTrE-PTCC Student of the Year 2010-11
Each year SCEPTrE, in partnership with the Professional Training and Careers Committee, offers a prize of £500 to a final year student who is able to demonstrate excellent commitment to their own development as a professional. Candidates are nominated by tutors and sometime employers. Shortlisted candidates are invited for interview and each gives a 10min presentation on the theme of how they developed their professional capability before being interviewed. All the nominated students receive a letter of congratulations from the Vice Chancellor.
2010-11 Fourteen tutor nominations were received and seven students have been shortlisted – Wilson Wong (Law), Lucy Butterworth (Psychology), Richard Bale (Physics), Dave Sendall (Music and Sound Recording), Tom Rice (Computing), David Curran (Technology & Entrepreneurship), Rachel Palmer (Biosciences)
The finalists were interviewed by a panel, chaired by Professor Colin Howard, in early February.
